The most important work on Fermat's Last Theorem is
Andrew Wiles's paper, Modular Elliptic Curves and Fermat's Last Theorem [pdf].
Unfortunately Wiles's paper assumes the reader is an expert in a huge range of modern
mathematics. One goal of this Freshman seminar is that by the end you should be able
to read the introduction to Wiles's paper.
